Bucket List

I'm with Insignificant at Best (the inspiration behind this post, thank you), I had never heard of a bucket list until Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson made a movie called The Bucket List.  Since the movie came out, everyone seems to have a bucket list...except me!  Sure, I have adventures I'd like to take, beautiful locales I long to see from a swaying hammock, historical sites I need to absorb while sporting a khaki utility vest.  Never have I written it down in any form though.  I've never even answered and forwarded on to 12 of my closest friends one of the bucket list e-mails that circulates every fourth month - though I do love reading my friend's adventures (and misadventures).  My list would look something like this:

( ) Gone on a blind date
(x) Skipped school
( ) Watched someone die 
( ) Visited Canada
( ) Visited Hawaii
( ) Visited Cuba
(x) Visited Europe
( ) Visited South America
(x) Visited Las Vegas

(x) Visited the Grand Canyon
(x) Flown on a plane

(x) Been skinny-dipping outdoors

As I mentioned previously, I have no bucket list.  But alas, I have created one here for your enjoyment...and mine.  It got me thinking that I better get to traveling, both domestic and abroad!  The BL is certainly not an all-inclusive list but I'm sure as I'm driving the kids to school tomorrow or something, I'll think of a really cool bucket list item that should have gone on the list.  Here is what that list looks like today, in no particular order:

( ) Travel to New York City at Christmas
( ) Travel the East Coast in fall
( ) Visit Niagra Falls
( ) Take an Amtrak train trip

Edited on 9/8/11 to say, SEE, I knew if I created a bucket list there would just be more things to add to it!  One more, for now.

( ) Do yoga on the beach.  San Diego, Maui, Costa Rica, wherever.  Sandy beach, ocean behind me, doing yoga.

In reviewing my list I realize I have an awful lot of traveling to do if I want to accomplish everything!  I've got nine years left on my current passport, so let's get cracking!
